Classes are taught using the framework of the Laban/Bartenieff Movement System and Language in addition to my experience as a modern dancer, licensed massage therapist and lover of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology. I believe everyone should have access to the numerous benefits of somatic movement for overall well-being and have an outlet for expression.

*No formal class Aug and Sept (I will be holding collaboration workshops on Sat, Aug 2 [see above] and Sat, Sept 6th [more info coming soon]. Stay tuned…

In this class, we seek to deepen the mind-body connection and explore new, healthier ways of moving through gentle, slow and intentional explorations and somatic movement based exercises using the framework of Laban Movement Analysis, the Bartenieff Fundamentals and other Somatic Concepts. We explore and investigate bodily awareness while standing and on the floor, learn the Human Developmental Movement Patterns, and work towards gaining a greater sense of embodiment to relax the nervous system and fuse the inner and outer worlds of the mover.
